First of all, I want to thank all of you who emailed me about Griffin(th) and Elizabeth Johnson etc. I went back through all the MDAllega archives & dug up a bunch more info, but I still have no connection to Griffin & Naomi. I think I may be barking up the wrong tree. From all that I read yesterday & the day before, it looks as though the Twiggs & Cheneys & Johnsons etc, married into each other's families so much that I am probably related to all of them! I may have a clue though!

I have a photo of a very old couple probably in their 80's dated 1862. The woman looks like she has a cleft or hair lip. There is very faint writing in pencil on the bottom of the photo & I can make out the name Johnson pretty clearly. It say's "________ & _____________ Johnson Sept 1862. The woman's name looks like it might be Elizabeth but it's really hard to tell. My photo software is pretty basic & I can't get it any clearer. I am having the photo rescanned & sent to me. Does anyone out there has a quality photo editing software program that might be able to clear it up? I think I may have a treasure here! Is there any history of cleft or hair lips showing up in this family? Does anyone have anyone have any pics of anyone with anything similar?
