I've been very interested in the messages about Patterson Creek, W.V. My
ancestor John Kennady/Kennedy was living in Washington Co. Maryland in 1777,
as was Elizabeth Countryman. They crossed the river (Potomac, I suppose)
went to Patterson Creek, W.V. and were married on 10 Dec. 1777 by Rev.
Thaddeous Dodd. I believe at that time it would have been Hampshire Co. VA
(now W.V.) Am I right??? At that time they would not have traveled too
far to be married so must have lived in the Oldtown Hundred area, or perhaps
closer to the VA border. Does anyone have any information on this area in
the 1774-1779 time frame. Or any information on a Kennady/Kennedy family.
Thank you so much. Betty Sewell
