Hi Pauline:
I don't have anything on "Jake" Hebb or Eliza (Moomaw) Brown that I know of.
I collect info on all persons named HEBB and others related to HEBB. I have
15 Jacob Hebbs' in my data base (some of whom are probably the same person).
Unfortuneately, I don't have much information on most of them. The ones with
Pennsylvania connections are:
1. Ancestry.com, Ancestry World Tree-website, Names of foreigners who took
the oath of allegiance to the province and State of Pennsylvania, Passingers
by the Ship Voltaire, Ezra Bowen, Master from Hamburg, August 29, 1796 -
Jacob Hebb and wife.
2. [Brøderbund Family Archive #311, Ed. 1, Census Index: U.S. Selected
Counties, 1790, Date of Import: Jan 12, 1999, Internal Ref.
#1.311.1.1296.46], Individual: Hebb, Jacob
County/State: Philadelphia Co., PA, Location: Philadelphia, Year: 1796
The following miscellaneous information is provided about the individual: AND
WIFE
3. Jacob Hebb, b. 1829, White Oak, Lancaster, PA, m. Rebecca Hollinger.
4. [Brøderbund Family Archive #317, Ed. 1, Census Index: U.S. Selected
Counties, 1850, Date of Import: Jan 17, 1999, Internal Ref.
#1.317.1.14581.176], Individual: Hebb, Jacob
County/State: Lycoming Co., PA, Location: Clinton Twp, Page #: 380, Year: 1850
I hope one of these may help you out, but I don't see any connection. I have
a copy of the 1880 Census, so if you have any dates for these people I can
do a look up for them. I checked for Eliza Brown and there are over 2600
listed in the index. There are no JAKE Hebbs listed at all. Jake is
commonly used as a nickname and the man's real name may not even be close to
it.
If you have any info on any HEBB's you would like to share, I would
appreciate it. If I can be of help to you, let me know. I have entered your
Jake Hebb into my data base and if I find anything in the future, I'll try to
let you know.
Jim Hebb
