Thank you, Charlie and Connie and Sharon! The 1880 abstracts from the Cumberland Times gave me the death date of my ggg grandfather, Edward Drake. I have been searching for this since 1957! He left no will
/ estate and living in Ohio makes it difficult for me to do 'hands on' research.

Of course a wonderful find such as this leads to more questions. His residence was '6 miles east of Cumberland near Mt. Pleasant Church.' Was there a cemetery there? Has it been transcribed?

DRAKE 22 Mar 1880 Mr. Edward Drake died Friday (19 Mar) at his residence 6 miles
east of Cumberland near Mt. Pleasant Church, aged 87 years, 10 months, and 9 days.
