Glyn,
Frostburg hosted the 49th MD State Fireman's Convention in 1942
And, in June of 1947, we hosted the 55th MD State Fireman's Convention,
w/ estimated 4,000 men and women marched in a parade witnessed by 10,000
spectators.... according to the 100th anniversary booklet of the Frostburg
Fire Department 1878-1978.... we have copies of the booklet at the Frostburg
Museum, but not sure if we have photos of the 1940's events.
We do have several photos of the Conventions held in Frostburg in the
late 19th and early 20th centuries.
