Thank you so much for the direction to the article "A June Jaunt". Many of
the places mentioned are so familiar to my family. Now to read about them 150
yrs. ago is a hoot! Fort Frederick has become a "must see" recommended to
family at our reunions. My children and grandchildren have fond memories of
lunching there and then exploring the restored Fort. There are many interesting
local photographs of the Civil War at the Fort. One we think has my husband's
grandfather in the front row but there are no record of the names of the
soldiers.

Eckhart Mines was the home of some descendants as were other places mentioned
in Washington and Allegany County.

We have made a "hard" copy to share with family.
