I got the following deed today and it mentions more than just Amos.

>From Allegany County Land Records - Liber 39-Folio 151-152
At the request of Amos Davis this deed was recorded July 16, 1873 -
THIS DEED made this 4th day of December in the year 1872 by JOHN DAVIS and MARY A. DAVIS, his wife, of Allegany County in the state of Maryland. WITNESSETH that in consideration of $400 and ___ dollars the said John Davis and Mary A. Davis, his wife, do grant unto Amos Davis of said county and state in fee simple all that part of the tract of land called RESURVEY ON COLLIERS DISCOVERY, lying and being in said county and state which is contained within the following metes and bounds, courses and distances to wit:
BEGINNING at a stake standing at the end of the 44th line of the whole tract called The Resurvey on Colliers Discovery and running thence with part of the 45th line of the whole tract South 21½º, East 7½ perches then crossing the whole tract north 82º, West 47 perches to a bounded red? oak standing in the 33rd line of said whole tract and with it North 45º, East 71 perches to the end thereof, then still with the lines of the whole tract North 18º, East 70 perches to a white oak, North 7º, East 33 perches to a Black Oak, North 31º, East 42 perches to a black oak then with the 37th line as connected to its ___ South 58º, East 20 perches to a sycamore still with the lines of the whole tract, South 20º, West 32 perches, South 40º, West 22 perches, South 12½º, West 28 perches to a gum tree South 22º West 22 perches to a white? walnut tree, South 11º, West 20 perches to a maple, South 26º, West 44 perches to a red oak, South 33º, West 20 perches to the place of beginning, containi!
ng 27 acres and the said John Davis covenant that he will warrant specially the property hereby conveyed.
