I know last week wasn't a matter of spam-filtering by the ISP server for me,
but that can happen. I started getting on Saturday messages that had been
sent on Wed. and Thurs. - including the Rootsweb messages that I had been
removed from two lists, both of whom have over 1,000 subscribers so there
are a lot of messages, even in digest form. The bounced messages can take
up a lot of extra time for the list administrator, who gives enough
volunteer time. It can also cost them, because in some parts of the world,
people are charged for the phone time it takes to download messages to them.
They urge people not to reply including a long thread of messages because of
this cost.
