This looks like your family of Browns. Their stay in Allegany County ended
before the 1850 census. Do you know where they lived in AC. A search of
the county in 1840 yielded 3 Henry Browns. One in Cumberland, one in the 6th
Election District and the last one in Little Orleans. I looked at the
Cumberland entry. Both Henry & his wife were in their twenties. They had
one son under 5 years old. If this is the correct Henry, then another child
was born to the family.

At least the 1870 census may help narrow down you search in Germany.
