Dear Tracy,
Yes the Consolidation Coal Co. was in Allegany County. I believed they
owned many mines. But the reason your post caught my eye is because you
mentioned your family was Sullivan. Do you have a William Sullivan in your
family who once lived in Eckhart and had something to do with the mining
company? I had just recently mentioned I was trying to find the new name
for the old street named "School Hill" which the house my grandfather once
owned is located in Eckhart. He bought that house in the 1920's from a
William Sullivan. The house still stands. I have a picture of it from the
20's and 1986 if you think it may have once belonged to your family also I
will gladly sent you copies.
Carol

I have 2 references to Consolidation Coal Co. Inc., for my lineage of
Sullivans, I believe this is in Allegany County. It even says Mine #4;
So I'm hoping that this accident happened with this said coal mine company.
Does this company still exist? Would there be any records of my great
grandfather and gggrandfather's employment?And possibly my grandfather and
uncles?
Tracy
