Pat,
Thanks so much. James Leroy Crowe was my dad's only brother. My
grandparents, 'Jack' and Anna V.( Dean) Crowe were married in 1903 in St.
Michael's rectory Frostburg .'Annie' was from Borden Shaft. Their children
included ,James Leroy,Gladys( Connelley),Ursula( Dunn),Anna( Nolan),
Geraldine( Walker),and my father John F.,who was born in 1912. I know James
Leroy was born in either 1903 or 1904,and Gladys in 1905. She died this
past winter several months short of her 100th birthday. It's their dad
'Jack' who is the 'mystery' man as far as parentage is concerned.
I had pretty much given up trying to find the 'real' story. Perhaps someone
with better research skills than I would have better luck.
