FYI: Many lists are hit by "trolls" from time to time. A Google search
on internet trolls is very informative. Recently , another list I
belong to was infected with at least one troll. He or she took on a
number of different identities, and knew how to use addresses
similar to real members and attribute really nasty messages to others.
They start with a seemingly innocent message, then become more and more
inflammatory--sometimes answering themselves under another name. It can
get ugly. The list owner was able to block the trolls shortly after it
became obvious what was happening.
