Carol,
Several years ago, someone wrote to me and asked about Delilah Porter. They
mentioned that they had been told that she was a daughter of Moses Porter.
There are quite a few Moses Porters so I have never been able to determine IF
Delilah Porter was truly the d/o Moses nor which Moses was the supposed father
of Delilah. (Plain as mud isn't it)

Here is some correspondence that I received it reference to Delilah. This
was found in the Genealogy Department at the Allen County Public Library, Fort
Wayne, IN.
"Jacob"s wife, Delilah Porter (1805-1880MD), remarried after his death to a
James Anderson (b. c1818MD) & had the following children: Nancy b c1837MD
m1854 Joseph Garret, William b.c1839MD, James b c1842MD, Westley b.c1844MD,
Rebecca b. 1846MD, Edward b.1849MD & Thomas b c1853MD. Jacob's son, John Eckhart,
is living with the Andersons in the 1850 census & is listed as an heir in her
1881 Allegany Co., MD probate with sister Rachel Anderson. (Josiah Porter
served as guardian for Jacob's children, Rachel & John Eckhart in John Eckhart
Sr.'s probate). Each of his children received $450 as their share of inheritance
from John Eckhart Sr.'s estate. In an inventory of Jacob's personal property
was valued at $109.12. Brother-in-law, John Hansel (#040), acted as his
Estate Administrator. Delilah died in the Frostburg, MD area.

This was sent to me by Nancy Lewellenn.
