DNA testing - I'm only beginning to learn about the process. Any pointers
out there? Which labs are reputable, accurate? Is testing more markers
really worth the extra cost? Etc?
The Mail List Link below should help to answer a lot of
questions that you may have. I have used FTM and have
been happy with them. If you are testing a very common
surname then I would suggest you do at least 25 markers
and ideally 37. With 12 Markers you may get a LOT of
hits (for common surnames) that will not be related.
