OK I will concede. I looked up Coaster in the Cumberland Evening Times for
the1907 time frame and Kids were writing letters to Santa asking for Coaster
Sleds. So apparently one of these kids got their wish and ran this old man
down... so we all know how the story goes... "you'll shot your eye out kid"

The term coster could also be a wheeled toy that you ride down a hill. They
were called costers. We called them jetnies. They were wheels from a baby
buggy and a board to ride on and had steering with a rope. Just because it
was December does not mean snow, expecially in Cumberland. Actually it is
more likely that that is what hit the individual
