Adam BARTH's daughter, Amanda (bc 1859 - ?), married Millard Filmore WAG(GO)NER (bc 1855 - ? ) and Millard's sister, Louisa WAG(GO)NER (bc 1862 - ? ) married Amanda's brother, Lewis BARTH (bc 1860 - 1932). I decided to dig further on the family because I've been working on the theory that the Hessian soldier Johann Christoph WAG(GO)NER, chaplain of a German regiment during the Rev. War, was indeed the same Christopher WAG(GO)NER who settled in Allegany Co. by 1792. Looking over a roster of those Ansbach-Bayreuth soldiers, I saw an Adam BARTH listed. Johann Christoph and Adam BARTH were captured at Yorktown, marched to Winchester and later pow's at the "Hessian barracks" in Frederick, MD. When the war ended, they were both offered land in Nova Scotia. Johann Christoph went to NS, but only stayed for a couple of years; haven't learned yet if Adam BARTH actually went to NS. Since this Adam BARTH in the 1850 census in Allegany Co. was born in 1823, obviously, at best,!
he'd have to be a grandson of the elder Adam, but I found it intriguing and worth digging into. According to these censuses, I'll bet the John BARTH you mention and Adam were brothers...now to determine who their father was...then maybe grandfather?
