Use the Super 8 off of interstate 68 in LaVale MD. There area also three
other Inns/Motels in LaVale.

There is also a Hampton Inn and a Comfort Inn on Rt. 36 - instead of turning
left when you get off the freeway, turn right and you'll find both of these
Inns just around the bend in the road. So they're on the road to
Lonaconing..just pull out of the parking area and then turn left.
> Rt 36. But Super 8 is fine and cheaper than the other two.

While in the area it would be a shame to miss the historic parts such as:
Site of Fort Cumberland (1755), George Washington's cabin; Old C&O Canal;
Old Taverns along the National Pike, the first road built by the US
Government; the toll house; signs marking the places where George Washington
really did sleep, etc. and the Narrows.

If you contact this web page: www.mdmountainside.com they'll send you
wonderful tourist books as to what's here and where to find it.
