Jeff stated:
The Muir / Percy Family that I reference came to Allegany County
around the
1840's. They owned / ran the coal mines around Lonaconing. They are
connected to the Sloan family mentioned in Allegany history. They are
buried
in Percy Cemetery in Frostburg, Porter Cemetery in Eckhart and Vale
Summit
Methodist Cemetery

JEFF - do you have info regarding this that you could send to me? My
Hamilton - Allerdice - Kirkwood families came to the Lonaconing area
between 1869 and 1871 - the Muir family was tied into one of these
lines - and this may be a lead as to how/why the families came to
Lonaconing to work in the mines.
Grateful for any info - I think it was the Kirkwood family that was
tied to the Muir name.
