There is a Port Clinton in Ohio. It is in the resort area of South Bass Island, Sandusky, and the amusment park of Cedar Point. Directly on Lake Erie, if you drove further in current time you would be in the Detroit area of MI. Perhaps they migrated down from Canada via this route. Someone mentioned the St. Lawrence, but it is nowhere near the river in the 19th century or the St. Lawrence Seaway of the 20th century. It was a seaport and one could and can sail directly across to Canada.

I spent my summers on South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay) as a child. Then and until we sold our boat, we would take summer runs up to Pelee Island which is in the Canadian area of Lake Erie and to mainland Canada.

I'm getting closer to completing my FGS on the Gordon family. I learned
today that Bertie Gordon Glenn Page True was actually a Bertha Gordon. I
found that she died in 1953 and was buried somewhere in Allegany Co. She had
a son named Clyde Gordon Page who lived the majority of his life in Lavale.
He died in 1999. His obit says that he is buried at Hillcrest Cem. Where is
this? He was wed to Thelma Eagan who predeceased him. He was born in Port
Clinton. I'm assuming that this is in MD - where?

Who were the Cumberland Bluebirds? He was a retiree from Kelly-Springfield
Tire Co. Might someone remember him? I'd welcome additional information or
recollections. Thanks to all on the list who have offered their help - Karen
