Good Morning Everyone!

I know that the 1790 US Federal Census for Allegany Co was destroyed,
but were there any records that had been used to make up an "alternative"
census? And if so, what & where would I find them?

I have located my ancestors in the 1800 census and they were there in
Cumberland at least through 1808, when they left for Bourbon County,
Kentucky. But I can't locate them prior to this (yet)
Any opinions, ideas & flat-out hunches cheerfully & gratefully received!
