Pat,
I've been to so many Autumn Glory parades but now they all seem like the
same old thing, all over again. I don't usually go in unless it has
something to do with having headquarters during an election time and just
making our Party visible. I am STILL a member of the Garrett Co. Democratic
Central Committee.
I might be wrong, but I think Yoders is out of business???
Does it give you a sad feeling knowing there is no longer a Beall High
School?
Bill taught there one year, business subjects. There was a bad discipline
problem there that year and he lost interest in teaching. He got with the
State Highway as a road inspector and worked his way up....retiring as the
State Engr. for Garrett Co. His office was on Keyser's Ridge.
My dau. and son in law took me on a cruise to the Grand Caymen Islands last
November. It was fun but it makes me tired just thinking of even going
again some time. Old age, huh?
I have been active as a member of the D.A.R., Southern Garrett Rescue Squad
Aux., Garrett Co. Democratic Central Committee, Garrett Co. Democratic Club,
but, a member, but not active in the Eastern Star. I keep saying I am going
to get out of politics but.......................!
Ruth Ann usually calls me on my birthday (Oct.5) but, this year, she didn't.
I hope all is well. She never did like to write letters. The last time I
talked to her she said she had a small stroke and none/or not much movement
in one arm. She is like you, reading a lot.
Keep in touch.
Doris
