Yes there is. I don't have it scanned yet, but I will soon.

Do you know if this genealogy program is compatible with Family Tree Maker?

I am thinking about getting my granddaughter a program for Christmas. She
has
a new computer and I think it is called "Vista" or something like that. I
have FTM and want to be able to give her my files.

Harriet:

Vista is not the name of the computer brand but the
name of the operating system. Roots Magic website says
it is compatible with Vista and you can either share
gedcoms or she can import FTM files into Roots Magic.
FTM is not all that much more expensive than Roots
Magic, maybe about $10 or so.

Hi Harriet,

As far as I know all genealogy programs can be exported as a gedcom, all
programs then import gedcom files into their program. Gedcom is universal to
all genealogy programs.

Having said that, I don't know how Vista works, or if Roots Magic will work
on Vista.

I exported all my files from PAF to Roots Magic. I didn't lose a note,
source, name etc. I still use PAF also.

I haven't used FTM since 7.5 version, so I honestly don't know how it will
export. However I could move files back and forth between FTM & PAF way back
then.

Hope someone here, or maybe google Roots Magic, can help you better than I
am able to do. There is a Roots Magic message board.

Hope this helps,

Barb
