But if that persons date of birth can be obtained from a birth announcement
from the newspaper?? Grant it may have been from 30 or more years ago, so
only if people knew then what they know now... If a dishonest person wanted
to obtain this type of "personal" information it would be know problem for
them to do so..

Anywhere you pick up a newspaper or turn on the television, you will see or
read about people who are alive.

My experience has been, when a family member especially have issues with
keeping their information private, it has more to do with personal
infractions
in their life (i.e. illegitimate child or a marriage only 6 months before
the
first baby born, etc.)

Posting an obituary is not an infringement upon ones privacy.

I think one must be careful about posting family genealogy and putting
names
and birth dates of living relatives. If you put someone's name that is
still living, it is best leave birth dates out.
