My grandmother's father was born out of wedlock. When I statred to do
genealogy my Uncle told me I should't bother because I might find out thinks
I wouldn't want to know. Iwent ahead regardless. I then found out what he
meant because when my grandmother signed her father's death certificate she
just reversed the names of his parents to make it legit. It took me 3 years
to trace it back to Morgan Co. W.Va. where he was born and find the
truth.The census helped me a lot. When I told another family member who was
doing the same genealogy and showed her the proof she would not believe it
she sent my grandmother's version to LDS and today it is in rootsweb all
wrong
Why do some people "stick their head in the sand" and not want to know the
truth? Virginia
