In the 1870 census, a good match for Margaret is living in a hotel in
Piedmont, and, indeed, marked as "insane" in the census column for
designating infirmities. In the same hotel is "Barttig" Rowan and
John Rowan, of the right ages to be Margaret's sons as recorded in
1860. "Barttig" was born in Ireland and John in Virginia (in 1854,
West VA WAS Virginia). I am sending you this census image. You can

Write down (or print out!) everything you found and WHERE you found
it and you will see that you know more than you thought! (I'm finally
getting the hang of that!)
