Hello,
Is anyone researching the MITCHELL family of both Baltimore and Harford
County, Maryland, particularly those of the Halls Cross Roads area in
Harford county?
I am looking for the ancestors of William A. MITCHELL, b. ca. 1796,
Harford/Baltimore county. He had a wife Mary, b. ca. 1799 and three known
children:
William Henry MITCHELL, b. ca 1823
Edward A. MITCHELL, b. ca. 1831
James Emery MITCHELL, b. ca. 1840

All of these men were wandering carpenters/stairbuilders. They appear in
the 1860 census of Richmond city, Virginia.
William Henry MITCHELL died in 1882 in Wash., DC (my 2nd
great-grandfather)
Edward A. MITCHELL was last found in the 1880 census of Hanover Co., VA
James Emery MITCHELL was last found living in DC in 1880.

I have a feeling that the surname of Mary the wife of William A. MITCHELL
was ARNOLD. There was a marriage in Feb. 1822 in Harford Co., Maryland of a
William MITCHELL and Mary ARNOLD.
