I am from Mathews County, Va. I was born here and live here now. I have not been able to find the Callis mentioned in your note, so far. I will continue looking.

The Callis' have been in Mathews since 1678 when John Callis was granted land. I was born about 1 mile from this land grant.

There are lots of Callis' still here and, of course they have migrated all over the U.S.
