Subject: [MDCAROLI] Given name: Arthur John -- who is his father?????
Date: Tue, 14 May 2002 14:05:24 EDT

Hi list me again,

My g-grandfather Arthur John WEBBER is the illegitimate son of
Margaret E. BERRY, who m. William W. MEDFORD. Art was b. 1852 in Caroline
Co. & raised by Wm & Martha (Voss) WEBBER. Hence, the surname WEBBER.

Ref: "HEIRS and LEGATEES of CAROLINE COUNTY," pg. 57, by Irma HARPER.

Margaret BERRY's sister, Nancy (Ann) Elizabeth m. Holiday VOSS
(brother to Martha). Hence the connection to the WEBBER's.

Now, who is Arthur John's natural father?????

Well, I just may have been slapped in the face with the answer & did
not realize it until now.

Recently, a woman came to my home because she needed help in
finding info on her McLAUGHLIN grandmother. While she was here, she
mentioned she had a connection to the Eastern Shore of MD, (Caroline
Co.). I asked about the surnames & she mention PARRIS, WILLIS & others.
She also mention an Arthur John as a given name. Of course my ears
perked up -- Arthur John I had not heard anyone in Caroline Co. with
that given name other than my g-grandfather. I told her I would check
my library & see what I could find on her Caroline Co. Families.

When I just typed up the last e-mail I sent out on the CORBIN - WEBBER
Family -- I took close notice the children's names.

CORBIN, Garfield S., Sr., b. 1882 in Altoona, Blair Co., PA m.
WEBBER, Bertha Arena, b. 10 Mar 1882, New Castle City, New Castle
Co., DE. There four sons were:

CORBIN, Garfield S., Jr., b. 22 Sep 1905, Chester, Dela. Co., PA.
*CORBIN, Willis Edward Arthur, b. 26 Feb 1910, Chester, Dela.
Co., PA, d. Feb 1911.
CORBIN, Paul, M., b. 30 May 1912, Chester, Dela. Co., PA.
CORBIN, Stanley Webber P., b. 9 Jul 1914, Chester, Dela. Co., PA.

Bertha WEBBER, is my grandfather Edward Arthur WEBBER's sister
& he was born in Henderson, Caroline Co., MD in 1886 & died in
Hackspoint Beach, Earlville, Cecil Co., MD 1955.

I know John Wesley is often used as given & middle names, & we
know who it refers to but does anyone know if the name Arthur John
has a special origination?

My father was William Anthony WEBBER -- his twin was Arthur John
WEBBER & their older brother was Edward Arthur WEBBER, Jr.

Do you think the name of Willis Edward Arthur is a clue, to who
this child's natural grandfather was?

Does anyone have any knowledge of an Arthur John WILLIS b. c1830
or an Edward WILLIS?

I have never found any connect to the WILLIS Family in the past
20 odd years through my Family Lines HITCH - CALLAWAY - BERRY -
VOSS - FRAMPTON, etc. Has anyone else?

Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS)
