Hi Jean...is the offer still open for free research? I have been researching my Corkran ancestors and have hit a brick wall. My gr grandparents were Christopher Columbus and Eliza Ann Andrew/Corkran....Christopher's parents(my gr gr grandparents) were Jesse Corkran and Sophia Medford(dau of Nathaniel and Rebecca Medford)...Dorchester County MD area. Jesse was born around 1790-1800, married Sophie Medford(born 1-27-1794)in Dorchester County 12-31-1821, three children...Emily, Christopher & James H. They lived in the East New Market area(Census 1840 Dist 12 MD).Jesse died 8-8-1842 and Sophia died 2-14-1852.I feel like I am stuck at this point...I am trying to find Jesse's parents and siblings....I can't seem to put anything together. If you might have anything...it would be greatly appreciated. I know either his parents and gr parents should be coming from Ireland. My grandfather always said we were of Irish ancestors. Any help will be greatly appreciated. In Medford family b!
ible records I got from the MHS there is mention of a John Corkran that married a Nancy Medford,Jesse Corkran married Sophia Medford((my gr gr grandparents)..I believe that might have been brothers marrying sisters but 13 years in between the two marriages?? There was also a Peter Corkran mentioned where he died on 7-30-1843(was that a brother to Jesse?..he died 1842)...also mentioned was a Deborah Corkran(was she a sister or married to a Corkran??no dates mentioned)I am thinking she may have been married to Peter? and a Margaret Corkran married to a William Carroll. I just can't find where anyone had a son named Jesse. So anything will be greatly appreciated or thank you for just trying. I think I have been on it too long and its all running together at this point. Hope to hear back from you. Again thank you in advance
