The above book is one you should consider buying; there are many, many
more references to various FORESTERs, FORSTERs, FOSTERs on tax lists, as
petitioners, as early inhabitants, as lotholders, etc. Too many to include
here.
There are also gobs of FORESTERs, FORSTERs, FOSTERs in the two ABSTRACTS
OF CECIL CNTY, MD LAND RECORDS, 1673-1751 and 1734-1753, June D Brown,
WillowBend Books.
It would be well worth your while to purchase all three of the above books,
as a matter of fact. They are paperbacks, of a good size to utilize or to
carry w/you, and a fair price, $15 to $20 as I remember.
Since the FORESTERs, FORSTERs, FOSTERs were so firmly rooted in early
Cecil cnty, MD you might also want to give serious consideration to
purchasing HISTORY OF CECIL CNTY, MD and The Early Settlements Around the
Head of Chesapeake Bay and on the Delaware River w/Sketches of Some of the
Old Families of Cecil Cnty; George Johnston, 1881, reprinted 1998, Heritage
Books, Bowie, MD. ISBN 0-7884-1017-2. I believe it can also be purchased
from the Historical/Genealogical Society. I must warn you: the Index is
LOUSY. But the history so thorough, if you have family firmly rooted in the
area it is well worth seeking out at your local library or purchasing the
paperback reprint.
