I'm afraid I haven't gotten any further than John and Elizabeth (nee
Peirce) HALL. I'm researching "down" from Elizabeth's parents: Henry and
Sarah (nee Smith) PEIRCE, rather than the usual up or back from self thru
previous generations to an original ancestor.

In INDEX OF MARYLAND COLONIAL WILLS 1634-1777, James M Magruder Jr, 1933,
reprint 1999, Genealogical Publishing Co, Baltimore, MD. ISBN 0-8063-0223-X:
there is a 1767 will for a Hawkins DOWNES in Queen Anne's cnty (35:152) and
one for another Hawkins DOWNES in 1773 in Queen Annes cnty (39:410) as well
as a 1756 will for a Hawkins DOWNS in Queen Annes cnty (30:103). Other
DOWNES/DOWNS wills listed are: 1761 Charles (31:352), 1774 Charles
(40:270), 1758 John Sr (30:490, 1762 John Jr (31:783), 1747 Nathaniel
(20:248), 1765 Solomon (33:169) and 1776 Hynson (41:376), all in Queen
Annes cnty; as well as 1737/8 George (21:835) and 1742 Margaret (22:512) in
Somerset cnty; 1707 John (12:197) in Talbot cnty; 1774 Esther (40:9) in
Worcester cnty and 1718 John (14:599) in Baltimore cnty.

There is no will listed for a George VANDERFORD, the only VANDERFORD wills
listed are 1737 Charles (21:811) and 1745 William (24:127) both in Queen
Annes cnty. 1692 there is a Michael Paul VANDERWORD (6:5) will in Talbot cnty.

Still I am interested in your Sarah HALL. If you learn who her parents are
please do share with me.
