My subject is William Price, born 7 June 1763; removed to Somerset County, Pa. before 1800, and to Ravenna, Portage Co. Ohio by 1805; died in Ravenna 26 Aug 1835. His father's name was believed to have been David Price. According to three of his children, per the 1880 census, he was born in Maryland. I am looking at the Prices in Cecil County because there was a David Price living there in the 1760s. Henry Peden's "Inhabitants of Cecil County" gives several references to a David Price between 1752 and 1770. Carothers' compilation of the 1783 Tax List mentions David Price's heirs.
There seems to have been a large concentration of people surnamed Price in Cecil County then, concentrated in Bohemia and Bohemia Manor Hundreds.. Is anyone on the list researching them? Discovering the names of "David Price's heirs" might solve a mystery.
