Wanda,
No, I'm not. Which names do you think might have come out of Delaware?
Thanks,
Carol

I just went to Rootsweb and typed in James Veasey and found the following :
James Veasey was born 1684 in Cecil County, Md. and died 25 July 1766
Cecil Co., MD... this is the James Veasey my Thomas John, Sr. was a witness
to while living in Loudoun Co., VA.. I don't know what the connection is.
James Veasey is the son of John Veasey and Martha Brocus.
James Veasey married Mary Mercer born about 1698 in Cecil Co., Md. She
died 1 Oct 1766 in Cecil Co., Md. She is the daughter of Thomas Mercer and
Elizabeth Bentley.
I don't know if my Thomas John, Sr is kin to them or friends. ? I don't
know if these families were Quakers as Thomas John, Sr. was.

Hi Carol,
I just found a record I had overlooked. While Thomas John, Sr was living in
Loudoun County, Virginia in 1766 the following record was found :
Thomas John, Sr. was a witness with John Hyland and William Foster to will
of James Veasey. Dated : 10 Sep 1753 Proven: 25 July 1766, Cecil Co., MD.
I'm not sure who these individuals are. I wonder who James Veasey is ?
I don't recognize your names Carol but that doesn't mean anything right now
as I am just starting research in MD and PA. Maybe something will show up,
meanwhile I hope someone on the list might know who James Veasey is. :)
Kindly Regards,

Marianne,
Hi, I have discovered that my 4great-grandfather Jonas Chambers'mother was a
Mary John. Jonas was born about 1742, so she would have been born maybe
1720's, They are mentioned in the will of David John who died in 1768 in
Cecil Co Md. Others named as relatives are nephews John Ricketts, William
Chambers, and niece Agnes Black. I suspect that this family was in Chester
Co Pa, and maybe didn't even move, because I read somewhere that most of
East Nottingham in Chester Pa became part of Maryland to settle a border
dispute, I don't know what year that happened though. I do know that Jonas
Chambers was on the East Nottingham, Cecil Md tax rolls. I too am looking
for more information on the John family/families of early Cecil Co Md. Ours
may be connected. Jonas Chambers was in Cecil Co as late as 1785 and showed
up in Burke Co Ga by 1789.

This is some records on my grandfather Thomas John which the records states
was in Cecil Co., MD and then PA before coming to Loudoun Co., VA.
Loudoun and Fairfax counties in Virginia were formed from Prince William
County in Va. He died in Loudoun County, Virginia and his will is dated
1770.
