Do check both in New Castle County, Delaware, also in Pennsylvania.
The place where (at least one or two) Thomas JOHNS lived was between
Iron Hill (close to the state line in Delaware) and Belle Hill, (close
to the state line in Maryland). Delaware was part of PA til the
1730's... the border between MD and DE also moved. So check all 3
states.

A Thomas JOHNS of iron Hill bought land in Cecil Co. --this has been
posted a couple of times already. But note that between 1720 and
1750, in Delaware Probate Records, there are not one, but three
probate files for someone called Thomas JOHNS in New Castle County.

Clearly some differentiation between these guys is necessary before
you discover which one (if any) are the same as, or related to, the
one from Cecil County, MD who you think had gone to, or bought land
in, Virginia.

Good luck,
Liz J
