Hello list,

I am looking for information on Capt Anthony Beck of London Town in Anne
Arundel Co Md. I don't know his birhplace or date, but he died in 1749 as
published in the Maryland Gazette on 9-20-1749. He died at sea while
commander of a voyage to Holland from Philadelphia, in which he transported
a group of Palantines to this country. He may have been married twice, first
to a daughter of Stephen West. His second wife was named Jane, and she was
his widow.

Samuel Chambers had a daughter name Jane who was born in the early 1700's in
Anne Arundel Co Md. It appears from records that Samuel and his family lived
in London Town, and other researchers say Jane married an unknown Beck.
Since Anthony also lived at London Town, and early member of the South River
Club was named Capt Anthony Beck, it seems this man was probably the husband
of Jane Chambers. Samuel Chambers and William Chapman and Turner Wooten
(Samuel had sons-in-law named Wm Chapman and Turner Wooten), were also early
members of the South River Club.

Any further information about Capt. Anthony Beck would be greatly
appreciated, such as who his parents were, any children, etc.
