John C. Wenk, miller at Chapman's Mill, born about 1812, died before
March 1885. Married
1) Margaret ? (1850census) or Mary (1860), M.J. (1870)born between 1824
and 1828, 2) Llewellyn (1880) born abt. 1840. April 17, 1885---Mr. and
Mrs. Wenk died from same disease some weeks ago (erysipelas). (pg. 9
Vol 5)

Children of John C. Wenk:

1. Andrew C. Wenk, miller at Chapman's Mill and then Chapel Poit Mills,
born about 1843, died June 5, 1910. Married before 1870 Susan ?, born
about 1850. Children of Andrew and Susan: Ernest C. born about 1871,
married Gertrude L. ?, Alla or Allie born about 1875 married Nellie
(Mary E. ?), and Almeda born about 1877.

2. William Henry Wenk born about 1848 married 1) before 1870 Mary
Aphilia ? born about 1852, died July 22, 1873 at "Normanda", 2) Jane
Henrietta ? born about 1849, died July 18, 1910. Child of Wm. Henry and
Mary is Joseph born about 1871. 1884---Henry Wenk won custody of his
child from grandfather, John C. Wenk. Father charged "improper
treatment". John Wenk will seek board compensation. (pg. 208 Vol. 4).

3. Felicity (1850 census) or Elizabeth (1860) Wenk born about 1849.

4. John A. Wenk born about 1851.

5. Webster Wenk (1860 census), J. W. (1870) born about 1854. May have
married Susie B. born about 1850, died March 7, 1922.

6. James B. Wenk born about 1856 died Dec. 1896, married Mattie A.
Mattingly. Children of James and Mattie are Bessie and Maude. James
had a saloon in Smoot House in Port Tobacco. Oct. 9, 1896---James B.
Wenk ill with malarial fever. (pg 146 Vol 6). Pallbearers for James
Wenk--nephews Albert Wenk and Joseph Worthy Wenk, but I don't know what
brothers they belong. Joseph Worthy Wenk married Bertha A. ?.

7. Alace Wenk (1860 census) M. A.(1870) female born about 1858.

8. William Wenk, male, (1860 census) or R. S. Wenk, female (1870)
born about 1860.

9. James Robert Lee Wenk born about 1862, died Aug. 1893. Sept. 1,
1893---Robert Wenk, Bel Alton died after illness of four days, with
brain fever. 31 years. Employed by P. R. Wills as bartender. Leaves
young wife and child. Interment at St. Thomas. (pg 276 Vol 5)

10. Elizabeth A. or H. Wenk born about 1865.

11. Mary O. Wenk born about 1875.


I don't know who these Wenk's belong, but most likely they go with this
family.

Charles Hoffman and Martha E. Wenk, Oct 1897.

Nov. 12, 1897---Robbie Wenk has memorial to him by "Sarah". He died
Nov. 6, 1897, age 5 years, 3 months and 22 days. (pg 220 Vol 6)
