Elizabeth is the name I've seen as Old John Barker's first wife and the
mother of most of his children. I don't know from where the name came. The
only very early transactions I've seen for a John Barker with a wife were
two sales of land by "John Barker and his wife Joan", one 13 Mar 1676, and
one 10 Mar 1685, both in Charles County land records, Vol II. I vaguely
recall some dispute about these being either for a different John Barker or
for John Parker, or such.

There is also dispute that Martha Booker of the will was actually Martha
Barker. There is a John Booker, son of John Booker and his first wife, for
whom I haven't been able to find a spouse. Martha could have married him. I
have no data on him beyond the appointment of Thomas Price as his guardian
in 1712 (Deed Bk E2, 152) and his choice of Thomas Wright as his guardian,
(Deed Bk E2, 210). Incidentally, Thomas Price was his half-brother, and
Thomas Wright was the husband of his sister, Mary. I've also seen her given
as his half-sister.
