No, we're not talking about different John Barkers, Betty. There is dispute
about who was John Barker's first wife. Most often, I've seen her given as
Elizabeth, or as you have it, a blank. There are two land transactions for
John and his wife Joan Barker in the land records. I personally think that
was him. I haven't found any other reference to a wife for him.
