I have a bit of data on this family, also. If I have identified the correct
Benjamin Thomas as the son of George, Sr. Notice in the following power of
attorney that Benjamin states St George's was left to him by his father's
will.. According to the abstract of George Sr's will that I have, only
Benjamin's brother George, Jr. was left St George's in his father George
Sr's will. James Thomas identifies the tract as being left by George Sr. to
George Jr. Could these be the sons of George Jr?
Or was George Jr. the same George who died 1752 with widow Ann and children
Tyer, John, Mary and Phillip? One of the sources--I think Harry Newman in
the book on the Smoots--in my opinion, probably incorrectly gives the wife
of this George Thomas, as Mary Groves.
