I guess you should never give up hope! Another person besides Normalhas finally expressed interest in my surname - HARBIN. (It appears as HARVIN in St. Mary's RC Church records & HARBORD in the case of a Zephaniah)
Bill, I don't know anything about the specific document you mention but I have extensive information on the surname HARBIN. Yes, there is reportedly a connection between HARBIN & KENNICK but I have not seen documentation on who (Do you know?).
Following are several court records I have involving HARBINS. Several of you may find them of interest for references to SMOOT, MIDDLETON, WATERS, ALLEN, MORTON, HAGAN ETC. I have much more but hesitate to post them because of the length. These have been posted before 3 or 4 years ago & should be in the archives although I think the last time I looked I couldn't find them. Please, I would love to hear from any of you with links to the HARBIN family.

11/14/1782 Deposition, recorded at the request of John Harbin. The Deposition of Leanner Harbin, who deposes that, in 1782, Nicholas Serlott came to her husband, John Harbin's, house 3 different times, and by him was treated very ill each time. In the first place, he insisted that I should come to sd Serlott's store and deal with him to the half of my sd husband's estate without his knowledge of the same, which she, this Deponent, refused, and told him that she was not in want of decent clothing, and that if she was, she did not choose to deal with any person without his leave. He then tried to persuade me to leave my husband and come to live with him, and that he would keep me a lady, for that I must be a damned fool to live with such a man as John Harbin so long as I had, to which I answered that Mr. Harbin had always used me well, and that I was very happy with him. Sd Serlott then said he should be glad to gain my favor to ride in the woods with him. I then replied I wou!
ld not. He then said if I would consent to go with him, he would give me a chintz gown for a night with me, and further said that if I would leave John Harbin and live with him, he would give me the horse that he then had there, all of which she refused, and asked him why he should have such an opinion of her as to make such offers, and that he had treated her ill, and that she would inform Mr. Harbin of his behavior when he returned home. Thomas was the highest bidder at open sale when this land was sold to satisfy several hundred dollars in debts that Horatio had to William Lyon. Horatio was a yeoman, late of Charles County.
