Dear List, Can anyone tell me how Malcolm McBEAN and Leonard YATES were
connected to William STEWART? They witnessed William's will. Were they more
than friends of William?

1750 Charles Co., Land Records T#2:440 William STEWART and his wife Mary
sold John ROBY a tract called "Three Brothers," consisting of 84 acres.

24 April 1751 - 31 August 1751 Will of William STEWART, Charles Co.
In the name of God Amen. I William STUART of Charles County in the province
of Maryland, being weak of body but of sound and perfect memory and
knowing the uncertainty and this transitory life I do think it well and
convenient to settle my affairs in order for a better ~?
First & Principally I bequeath my soul to Almighty God in whose death and
passion I hope to obtain everlasting life, and my body to __ earth, from
where it came, to be buried in such decent Manner as my executor hereafter
nominates and appointed shall think most and convenient. And what worldly
shall it hath pleased God to bless me with.
I give and dispose of in, manner and form following and I do appoint this
to be my whole and sole last will and testiment renouncing revoking and
making void any other will or wills heretofore by me made on intended to
be made, either verbal or in writting <sic.>, and do make this my whole and
sole last will and testiment - - - - - - - - - - -

I give and bequeathe unto my well beloved wife Charity dwelling house and
plantation that is to say her third of the land ___ing for life to be
disposed of at her will and pleasure as she deems meet. The remaining part
of said land it is my will it should be set up to be sold with property of
my wife's thirds after her dower to be sold for money or tobacco as they
can agree and what ever it is sould for it is my will it should go equally
divided between my four sons Charles and Philip and William and James. My
guns I will and bequeathe unto my son, William. Likewise it is my will that
my loving wife shall have cow called Blossom and her calf over and above
her thirds. And for the fulfilling executing and true performing of this
my last will and testiment I appoint my loving wife my whole and sole
executor in witness whereof I have hereunto sett to my hand and a fixed my
seale this twenty-fourth day of April Anno Domini 1751

The witnesses to this will came before me and ___ to the ___ ___ one of the
witnesses to the will to wit, Charles X STEWART, is heir at law to the
deceased and a minor about sixteen years of age and is unwilling that any
probate should be made; therefore the case is referred to the Hon.
Commissary General. Walter Hanson, clerk.
