Hello List,

Nice to see some familiar names from past conversations.


My Scott Surname is from two different branches. One from the Nanjemoy area and the other from the Brentland/Cedar Point Neck/Welcome area. I've been trying to find a link between the two branches and can't. However, I feel that Hugh Scott from the Cedar Point Neck area must be a brother to whoever was the father of my g/g/grandfather John Scott. Also, if anyone know who the John Scott, s/o Zachariah of the Hilltop/Nanjemoy area or even the Zach line, I'd appreciate some data. My John was md (1) to Nelly Mudd and was her 2nd husband . She was married to a Posey prior to John Scott. John Scott later moved to Washington DC evidently and died there at the age of 70 in 1896. He was then married to a Phoebe (surname unk). Per her death certificate she was from Pennsylvania.

My other Scott branch is from Molly (Mary Cecelia) Scott d/o Joseph Scott from Cedar Point Neck area of Welcome. Molly md. James Oliver, father of James E. Oliver.

My Adams line still needs a connection for the father of John Adams of Nanjemoy noted on the 1840/50 census.

My Allen line stops with the father of my g/grandmother "Molly" - Mary Permelia Allen, she md. Jabez Wright and lived in Nanjemoy until 1909. Her father was said to be "Frank" Allen. Who was his wife? Any other Children? I have no further info on this Allen line.

My Berry line extends from Christianna(sp?) Berry. She was the mother of Eveline Berry who md. James E. Oliver and is noted in the household of James E. Oliver in the 1850 census. Who was her husband?? My grandfather's name was Joseph Berry Oliver. He was s/o James and Molly Oliver.

Any assistance with these road block would be sincerely appreciate.
