Diane and List,
I agree with the infomation below - But I have a question about the
child born 29 Jan 1761.
You list her as Amelia. I carry her as Parmelia.
Is this another name, a nickname, different interpretation of
handwriting, or some other explanation?
I have seen this in other families too, and have been confused about the
origin and the real spelling and pronounciation of the name.
Can anyone out there give me an explanation - Amelia vs Parmelia?
There is one confusing name in my line, too, which could be a
handwriting interpretation. It's Paramus, with a Maryland origin from
the mid 1700s.
- Bye from Bill Howard
