Subject: [MDCHARLE-L] Robert Hanson

Good afternoon,
I was going through some old books and entering information into my database when I found this article and I knew many of you would find it extremely interesting.
4/5/1770: Robert Hanson of Charles Co. died on January 27, 1770. Before he died, he leased out to Joseph Adderton, surgeon, that part of his family estate where the family burying ground is. Adderton is using the plot as a horse pen and would not allow sd. Hanson to be buried there, so the subscriber takes this means of letting the friends of the deceased know why he buried Hanson elsewhere. Signed by Gerard Fowke. (Gleanings from Maryland Newspapers, 1727-1775 by Robert Barnes).
