At the request of Samuel Chapman the following Deed was recorded this 16th day of
February Anno Domini 1801~
This Indenture made this fourth day of February in the year of our Lord on thousand and eight
hundred and two Between Jane Winter of Charles County and State of Maryland Executrix and
William Campbell of Frederick County and State aforesaid and John Haw of Charles
County and State aforesaid executors of the Last will and Testament of Walter Winter Junior, son
of John late of Charles County deceased of the one part and Samuel Chapman of Charles
County and State aforesaid of the other part Whereas the said Walter Winter Junior departed
this life having duly made and published his Last will and Testament in writing bearing
date on or about the nineteenth day of February seventeen hundred and ninety nine and
thereby amongst other things willed and directed that all his Just Debts should be paid and
for that purpose gave his executors therein named full power and authority to sell and convey such
part of his real or personal estate as his wife should direct and the said Testator constituted
and appointed the said Jane Winter his wife to be executrix and the said William Campbell
and John Haw to be executors of his said will who have taken upon themselves the burthen of the
execution thereof as in and by the said Last will and Testament duly proved and recorded
in the Orphans Court of Charles County relation being thereunto had may more fully and
at large appear Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Jane Winter William Campbell
and John Haw in pursuance of the Last will and Testament of the said Walter Winter Junior
and for and in consideration of the sum of nine hundred and ninety seven pounds nine
Shillings and one penny Current Money of Maryland to them in hand well and truly paid
by the said Samuel Chapman at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents ( the
receipt and payment thereof is hereby acknowledged) They the said Jane Winter William
Campbell and John Haw by virtue of the power and authority vested in them by the Last
will and Testament of the said Walter Winter Junior, Have given granted bargained sold
aliened released and confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell aliene
release and confirm unto the said Samuel Chapman his heirs and assigns forever the
following tracts or parcels of Land Situate lying and being in Durham Parish in
Charles County towit a tract of Land called Deep Valleys containing thirty five acres one rood
and twenty three perches more or less Also a tract of Land called Addition to the Orphans Loss
containing one hundred and seventy acres and twenty nine perches more or less Also a tract
of Land called Grays Fancy containing sixteen acres and twenty one perches more or less Also
a tract of Land called the Land of Lee containing three hundred and seventy four acres
more or less and all the estate right title interest claim and demand whatsoever which
he the said Walter Winter Junior had of in and to the said Tracts or parcels of Land or any
part or parcel of them or either of them
