Hi Norma,
Yes, I have dates for the Johnston family. No, I don't have parents for
Mary Hanson, I wish I did. However, I have pages that I have copied from a
book in Salt Lake City, LDS Library: 929.273 J641c Johnston, Stapp and
Allied Families. Part 2 Johnston & Related Families, by Jennie F. Downing
Crow. The book suggests that Mary Hanson's father was either Randle Hanson
or John Hanson of Charles Co., MD.
I have found some errors in the book, but most of it agrees with other
information I've found. On another mail list I found a lady who has the
book, it belongs to her son in-law, but she has the same information that I
have. When things slow down a little at my house, I'll try to put some of
the dates in an email for you.

Do you have dates for the Johnston family? Do you have parents for Mary
Hanson?

The reason I had this data was that the closest thing I have to "proof" of
the lineage of my first Maryland ancestors, John Brawner and Ann "Nancy"
Speake is a letter from one Sarah Henry (Speake) McKee (1830-1918) written
in 1908 which mentions her Aunt Brawner -- though Anne Speake wasn't her
aunt. Sarah was the grand-daughter of Francis Speake and Anne was the
daughter of John Speake, both of whom were the sons of Richard and Theodosia

(Wade) Speake.

Francis Speake married Margaret Massey, the daughter of Rev. Lee Massey and
Mary Johnston. Their son, Lee Massey Speake was Sarah's father.
