Hi Kat,
Thanks for your offer in case you come across any of the White Family
members. Some of my files were "eaten" by a nasty virus that shut us down
for about a week. Fortunately, I can retrieve them from a cousin in
Northern Illinois, but I do have a copy of the will of one of the first
Colonial White's - Edward. He died in 1757 and his will was probated in
Dorchester County on December 12 (Maryland Will Book 30, {f' ?} 468-469). I
have to research where he and his wife, Elizabeth, are buried. He left the
bulk of his plantation to John White, Thomas White and Edward White - his
three sons.
It was Edward and his son Thomas who were volunteers in the American
Revolution. Edward's name appears on the ratification of the
Constitution by the State of Delaware (the line between Maryland and
Delaware kept shifting). He and John Dickerson were evidently political
colleagues. I know a fair amount about Edward's descendents (as he is my
branch), but his brothers,John and Thomas, require an immense amount of
research on my part.
Two of my genealogist, Illinois cousins have so many journals and books I
wanted to install sprinkler systems in their houses before I left to go
home after the last family reunion.
I'm drowning in my own questions! I am the only member of the family
working on this who was a history major. We tend to ask different questions
than genealogists.
If you come across the White Family, any and all information will be quite
welcome!
