On April 26, 1837, St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic
Church became the first Catholic church in America to be
consecrated.

On April 26, 1925, Henry Nusbaum, Civil War veteran, died
at his home on East Patrick Street in Frederick.

On April 26, 1939, "Uncle" Jacob L. Engelbrecht was honored
for his 50 years service to The Frederick News-Post at the
paper's annual outing at Braddock Heights.
