In 1848 my gr. gr. grand parents, Fredrick [1813 or 1820] and
Elizabeth Weisner[1823] Miller, purchased a farm in South Mountain,
Harbaugh Valley from John & Eva Catherine Miller [possibly his
parents] . It was 40 acers, part of a larger farm, 966 ac., named
"Mary's Delight". John and E. Cath got it from Joseph Harbaugh, who
bought the 966 ac., in 1820 it from Jacob Harbaugh.
According to the Fredrick Co., Hauvers Ward, 1850 Census
family # 8 Fredrick, Eliz, John [1843],Ephraim [1845], Catherine
Barbara [1848], Miller
his neighbors were: family #9 {Joseph[1789] & Susan[1792] Harbaugh},
family #10 {Adam[1816], Margaret[1788], & Peter[1776] Eyler},
family #11{Henry[1820], Ezra[1827], Isaac[1825], John[1884], Eva
Catherine[1790], Samuel[1832],Simon[1836], & Caroline[1834] Miller}
John and E. Cath are burried in the U.B. cemetary, Sabillasville, Md.
My questions:
Was Eva Catherine a Harbaugh, before she married John Miller? Is she
related at all?
Were there other children, possibly, Fredrick, a daughter, Eliz.
Young 1814-1890, and another son, Jacob 1822-1901?
Are Samuel, Simon, and Caroline grandchildren? [E. Cath would have
been 46 yr old in 1836.]
Can anyone
help, please? Teresa Gosche
