On November 20, 1798, John Frederick Amelung died
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sophia Amelung Volkman,
on Bank Street in Baltimore. Amelung established a factory
at Park Mills in lower Frederick County which became one
of the premier glass manufacturers in the new United States.

If anyone can add information to this Histyory Moment,
